Getting to Siem Reap 
Most of tourists to Siem Reap arrive by air at Siem Reap International Airport from Phnom Penh , Bangkok and Vietnam. Though there are also direct flights from several other major cities in East and South Asia.
Air
Siem reap International Airport (www.cambodia-airport.com/) is a work of art set 7 km west of the center of Siem Reap town. Siem Reap international Airport offers regular connections to most neighbouring Asian Cities. Domestic flight are limited to Phnom Penh, but it is hoped that direct flights will resume to Sihanoukville at some stage.

Bus
All buses depart from the bus station, which is 3 km east of town and about 200 m south NH6. Tickets are available at guesthouses, hotel, bus offices, travel agencies and ticket kiosks. Some bus companies send a minibus around to pick up passengers at their place of lodging. Most departures to Phnom Penh are between 7 am and 1 pm, buses to other destinations generally leave early in the morning. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, be prepared for a rugby scrum of eager moto drivers meeting the bus. There are lots of bus companies that serve Siem Reap. All have kicket offices at the bus station. Most travelers buy tickets through their guesthouse, hotels, including a transfer to bus station.

Boat
Boats for the trip to Battambang (US$20) and the faster ride to Phnom Penh (US35) depart at 7 am from the tourist boat dock at Chong Kneas, 11 km south of thown. Tickets are sold at guesthouses, hotels and travel agencies, and include pick up from your hotel or guesthouses around 6 am.

Where to Stay in Siem Reap
Siem reap now has more hotels and guesthouse than temples that means there are hundreds to choose from, from simple shacks with share toilets to sumptuous six stars suites. accommodation range from budget one star to five stars. Eatting
Worthy restaurants are sprinkled all around town but Siem Reap's culinay heart is the Ssar chas area, whose focal point, The alley, is literally lined with mellow eateries offering great atmosphere. Getting Around Siem Reap
Siem reap is almost small enough to get around on foot, but not quite.  The ruin Temples are as much as 5 to 5 km apart, and the Angkor Park is 4 km from  Siem Reap Town. So you are require some sort of transportation. You should hire a bike-cycle (US$2) per day or take a Tuk-Tuk for a small group (US15-US$20). Transportation to and around the temples is usually hired by the day. To avoid later misunderstandings, make sure to negotiate the details of the driver'services carefully - exact prices, what time you expect the day to begin and end, availability during lunch hours, limitations on your itinerary, extra charge for distant temples.

Floating Villages
The famous floating village of Chong Keas is now so popular with visitors that it's become somthing of a floating cash cow, at least insofar as hiring a boat (US$11 per person plus US$2 entry fee) is concerned. unfortunately, large tour groups tend to take over, and boats en up chugging up and down the channels in convoy.
To get to the floating village from Siem Reap costs US$2 by moto each way (more if the driver waits), or US$15 or so by taxi, The trip takes 20 minutes. Or rent a bicycle in Siem Reap Town and just pedal out here - it's a leisurely 11 km through pretty villages and rice fields. More memorable than Chong Kneas, but also harder to reach, it the friendly village.

Siem Reap War Museum
Siem Reap War Museum ,located on the road to Siem Reap Airport, displaying a wide variety of military hardware and equipment in decrepit condition, taken from the battlefield. Heavy armor including, rocket launchers, APCS,  T-54 tanks, anti-aircraft guns, artillery pieces, small arms and piles of disarmed mines, bombs and small arms.Most of the larger pieces are labeled.

Cambodia Land Mine Museum & Relief Facility
The Cambodia land mine Museum, located 7 km south of Banteay Srei Temple, has evolved from a small shack museum by former soldier and deminer Akira to a formal museum and charitable organization. The museum exhibits a variety of defused mines, bombs and other ordinances as well as information on mines, demining and cambodia's mine problem. Kampot , bordered by Vietnam to the east and the Gulf Thailand to the south is endowed with an alluring combination of old colonial towns, abundant natural attractions and easy intro regional transport. Kampot 
More and more independent travelers are discovering this charming riverside town, with its relawed atmosphere and a run-down French architectural legacy. It makes an excellent base for exploring the area between Bokor National Park and Kep, or for just lazing by the river for a few days. The most enjoyable activity is strolling along the riverside promenade and along streets lined with decrepit French -era shop-house. Some of the best colonial architecture can be found in the triangle delineated by 7 Ph Makara, the entral Durian Roundabout and the post office.

To the south near the river is the GPO and telecommunications building. At the north end of town, about 1.5 km away, is the Central Market, with foodstalls. All Kampot transportation is concentrated within range of the market-cycle, motors, taxis, trucks, and buses. The railway station lies farther north.
KampotThere’s zero of interest in Kampot except to walk around town and look at crumbling French-built blue-shuttered shop fronts. Previously Kampot was a stepping-stone to Bokor and Kep. You can reach Kampot by irregular plane service from Phnom Penh. It’s not advisable to get there by car. It takes about 5 hours to cover the 150 km from Phnom Penh to Kampot.

From Sihanoukville it’s 105 km to Kampot by a jumping and dirt road. The train from Phnom Penh to Kampot takes seven hours. It used to be a frequent target of the Khmer Rouge - in a 1994 ambush, three foreigners were captured by them.

Travel To & From Kompot
Car
From Sihanoukville, the road to Kampot is in reasonable condition. Taxis from Sihanoukville to Kampot around US$18 to US$20 for a private taxi. Taxis from Phnom Penh near Phsar Thmei cost US$15 to US$20 per person , and it take 3 hours.

TEUK CHHU RESORT
Is the natural resort locating at Snom PrompiVillage, Mak Prang Commune, Kampot District in eight- Kilometer distance, north of the provincial town. The resort has water flowing from Phnom Dam Rey – Phnom Kam Chay. The water is cool and clear flowing down over the big rocks for year round. PREK AMPIL RESORT
Is the beach rich in white sand, mangrove and coconut trees, and locates at Koh Touch Commune, Kampot by the National Road No 3. At the resort, we can enjoy the fresh seafood like crabs, cuttlefish, lobster, snail, and varied sea fish.

BOKOR RESPORT
Locates at 42Km distance from the provincial town of Kampot, and was found by a French people 1922 during the reign of the King, Sisovath Before, Bokor was a leisure place for French colonists who need to exchange atmosphere from the plain area to the mountain area at seaside.
The Mountain of Bokor has 1,075-meter height, good weather and beautiful natural view with big trees and rocks shaping up as animal figure. In Sang Kum Reas Ni Yum, there were public buildings, which look like a city there.

At seven-kilometer distance from the mountain, there is a swimming spot locating the water ‘Po Pok Vil’. On the top of the mountain, we can view the beautiful scenery of Kampot town, Kep, Sihanouk Ville and blue water of the sea.

KAMPONG TRACH RESORT
Is the rocky mountain having caves and natural wells where arranged and worshipped by the tradition of Cambodia, China and Vietnam. The resort locates in 38Km distance, East of Kampot town by the National Road No 16. There is a natural well having 30m diameter and other small natural wells having four-meter stair and artistic stone look like animal or object shape. From these natural wells, there is along cave that we can go through to the La Ang Viel Sre 100 and La Ang Thmar Dos.

At these natural wells, there are some evidences remain which prove that the wells were the main filming place before the 70th decade. At the front valley, there is a pagoda of Chinese and Vietnamese. In front of the cave, there is a Cambodian pagoda, which has been now maintained and arranged by the pagoda committee permanently. Among the above four resorts excepted Teuk Chhu have not been renovated and well organized yet. However there are tourists and researchers visit the resorts.

Phnom Slap Taaun Caves
Phnom Slap Taaun Caves are very accessible,lying only 8km from Kampot town. Take the Kep road out of town for only 7 km to the village of Kbal Meas (Golden Head). At the garuda statue at the crossroads, turn left, and go out to the small hill. It is the only hill in the area so it is hard to miss. The cave exteriors are not very photogenic because the locals have turned the place into a small limestone quarry. However, the interiors are spectacular with a vast complex of passageways, amphitheaters, stalactites and strange formations. Take a flashlight with you. In many places the caves are lit by sunlight filtering through fissures in the rock. Between these, it's a bit dark, but it is this low, mysterious lighting that gives the caves their charm.

Sihanoukville (Kampong Som)- Cambodia beautiful Beach

SIHANOUKVILLE 
Sihanoukville is a popular site for local and international tourists come to visit every day, Sihanoukville surrounded by beaches and idyllic tropical islands, Sihanoukville (Kampong Som) is Cambodia's premier seaside resort that attracted a lot of tourists from everywhere around the world. Numbers of visitors come to visit Sihanoukville have risen rapidly in recent years, but despite the boomtown rents, the city's bars and sands remain laid-back. Most of action happen not far from the scruffy city centre on busy Occheuteal Beach, for peace and quiet, venture south of town to Otres Beach or hit one of the islands.
Sihanoukville is the best place for your trip in Cambodia. In recent years some new resorts have been build, and a raft of new luxury hotels and condominiums are rumoured to be in the works

Sihanoukville Sights & Activities
Sihanoukville's sandy beaches are in a state of flux as developers move in and murky leases are signed to cash in on the tourism boom.Most central is Occheuteal Beach.
On the south of Occheuteal, gloriously quiet Otres Beach is a seemingly infinite strip of almost-empty white sand, populated by casuarinas and a small colony of mellow resort at the south end.
Northwest of Serendipity, all but a tiny stretch of pretty 1.5km-long Sokha Beach now belongs to the Sokha Beach Resort. Independence Beach is a good stretch of clean sand but is being developed.
A bit north of tiny, secluded Koh Pos Beach, a bridge links the mainland with Koh Pos (Snake Island), where a Russian firm has plans to build a resort city. The original backpacker beach, Victory Beach, under Russian management, is clean, orderly and devoid of buzz.

Diving  Sihanoukville
The diving near Sihanoukville is not terrific.It gets better the further you go out, although you still should not expect anything on par with the western Gulf of Thailand or the Andaman Sea. Most serious trips will hit Koh Rong Samoem while overnight trips target the distant island of Koh Tang and Koh Prins.

Around Sihanoukville
In Sihanoukville there are dozen of tropical islands dot the water. Developer have been drooling over the islands for years, but so far wide-scale development have been kept at bay. The most appealing of the island are neighboring Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samoem, both about two hours offshore and ringed by white-sand beache that count among Cambodia's best. Plans to turn Kong Rong into a Cambodian version of Thailand's Koh Samui, complete with ring road and airport, have stalled. Koh Rong Saloem has a few lonely resorts of its own and some amazing wildlife, including macaques, black squirrels and sea eagles.
Closer to Sihanoukville, little Koh Ta Kiev has two resorts and a long white beach, while you ca,n snorkel off Koh Russi (Bamboo Island).

OCHHEUTEAL BEACH
Ochheuteal  is the largest and most popular beach of Sihanoukville. It’s a two km stretch of fine sand, but – as said in the introduction – quite narrow compared to some of the beaches in Thailand, especially at high tide. Ochheuteal is filled with beach stands and chairs. Across the street from the beach, there's a plethora of restaurants, hotels and guesthouses. The southern end of the beach is slated for probably yet another resort style ‘development project’. The northern end of Ochheuteal is called Serendipity Beach.

SERENDIPITY BEACH
The north-western end of Ochheuteal Beach is the place for backpackers, with cheap accommodation nearby or even right on the beach, and affordable eateries. Some of the simple huts and other accommodation can be had for free in the low season, provided you take your lunch and dinner at the establishment. Sometimes people refer to Ochheuteal as ‘Serendipity’, probably because it’s – for Westerners – much easier to pronounce.

OTRES BEACH
A little further out, but well worth the trip: we would call Otres Beach the best – publicly accessible – beach of Sihanoukville. A few years ago, entrepreneurial souls saw the potential of this stretch of sand along the Gulf of Thailand and set up businesses: simple shacks, bars and restaurants.

Soon, it gained a reputation, especially among expats, for its serenity and lack of sellers and beggars. Then, as so often in Cambodia, some of the high and mighty also saw the development potential and bulldozed everything down in 2010. For some – no doubt ugly – development which has not appeared yet. Surprise, surprise…

The central portion of the beach is closed, but elsewhere, slowly but surely, the area is rebuilding!

SOKHA BEACH
Although this is the most beautiful beach of Sihanoukville, it is not publicly accessible. The beach is cordoned off by the Sokha Beach Resort, or whatever it is called, part of the powerful Sokimex conglomerate (which also happens to exploit the Temples of Angkor – no kidding, the entrance fees at the World Heritage site of Anglor go into private hands!).

If you are willing to make the Sokha owners even richer, pay $10 (!!!) for the privilege of using the hotel part of the beach…

INDEPENDENCE BEACH
Continuing to the north from Sokha, next is Independence Beach. This beach is a bit narrower and rockier, and is inhabited by just a few thatched roof shacks that sell snacks and drinks. A nice place for people who want a quiet, but easily accessible beach. Almost no sellers are active here. At the far end of the beach, the hotel from which the beach gets its name, the Independence Hotel, sits atop a point. Since the hotel has seven stories, the local name for this beach is ‘Seven Stories Beach’ or ‘7-Chhan-Beach’ and so it is mentioned on street signs.

HAWAII BEACH
The western beaches of Sihanoukville are together called ‘Victory Beaches’, divided by the Friendship monument in the middle. The southern part is commonly referred to as Hawaii Beach, which tends to be much more popular with locals than tourists. It’s a bit rocky and muddy in places, and dominated by the huge Techo Morakat Bridge from the mainland to – you guessed it – another development on the island off the south-western coast, called Koh Puos.

VICTORY BEACH
Once this was the most popular area to stay in Sihanoukville, but the beach and nearby Weather Station Hill have lost out to Ochheuteal Beach. It is a fairly short beach, but it offers a view of the ships passing by from Sihanoukville port at the northern end. The distinctive Airport Nightclub sits near the entrance to the beach. Next to the Airport Club, boats for hire operate off of the pier.

ISLAND BEACHES
Sihanoukville's most beautiful beaches aren't on the mainland, they are on the islands near the coast. A real jewel is Bamboo Island (Koh Russei), one of the closest islands. It is a small island with breathtakingly beautiful beaches on two sides, connected by a kilometer and a half long path cutting through the jungle covered interior. There is a small bar/bungalow establishment on the windward side of the island for those wanting to stay the night. Getting to the island is an easy 45 minute boat trip.

There are quite a few islands dotting the gulf within day-trip distance of Sihanoukville. For snorkelling, Koh Ta Kiev is one of the best. Three lovely beaches shaded by pine trees are accessible on the island and its coral reefs that make for excellent snorkelling. But again, sigh, Koh Ta Kiev has been leased to a foreign company — the same French outfit that has taken 99-year leases on half of Koh Russei and parts of Ream National Park.

Ream National Park
Ream National Park also know as Preah Sihanouk National Park, this park - now seriously endangered by commercial development - comprises 150 sq km of primary forests and is an excellent place to see wildlife.
Fascinating 2 to 3 hours jungle walks ($8 per person) are led by rangers (most, but not all, speak English), and are easy to arrange.

Getting to Sihanouk Ville
Go to Sihanouville travel from Siem Reap , you will passes through Phnom Penh. If you leave from Siem reap early morning  can get there in a long day, about 9 to 10 hours if you choose bus or taxi. But you to there by plan it will be faster.
Temple-beach combo holidays will be an easy option when and if newly reconstructed Sihanoukville International Airport, 18km east of town, resumes flights to/from Siem Reap. At press time the de facto national carrier, Cambodia Angkor Air, continued to resist opening this route, and the airport remained sequentially mothballed.

All of the major bus companies have frequent connections with Phnom Penh ($3.75 to $6, four hours) from early morning until at least 2pm, after which trips are sporadic.

Eating and Drinking
Occheuteal Beach is lined with beach bars that are perfect for sun-downers; hit the north end of Serendipity beach for a more laid-back scene. A few long standing and genuinely cool regular bars remain standing amid the girlie bars of Victory Hill. Rambunctious late-night action takes place either side of the pier dividing Occheuteal and Serendipity Beach.
Sihanoukville's center of culinary gravity has shifted to the serendipity area, but the main drag of Victory Hill still has some good value restaurants. The gritty commercial center also holds a few pleasant surprises.

Phnom Penh - Capital of Cambodia

PHNOM PENH CAPITAL OF CAMBODIA
The capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, is located at the confluence of three rivers - the Mekong, the Bassac and Tonle Sap.  The city is divided into three sections - the north, an attractive residential area; the south or the French part of the city with its ministries, banks and colonial houses; and the centre or the heart with its narrow lanes, markets, foods stalls and shops.

Over the past four years, the city has undergone tremendous changes - businesses are springing up constantly and tourism is once again booming.  Cambodia has one of the most liberal investment laws to further boost managed to retain its charm and character - cyclos that weave through traffic with ease, broad boulevards, old colonial buildings, parks and green spaces that reminds one of the country's French heritage, and above all its people who always have a smile for you.

A stone's throw away from the Tonle Sap is the royal Palace built on the site of the Banteay Kev, a citadel built in 1813. The Palace grounds contain several buildings: the Throne Room of Prasat Tevea Vinichhay which is used for the coronation of kings, official receptions and traditional ceremonies; the Chan Chhaya Pavilion which is a venue for dance performances; the king's official residence called the Khemarin; the Napoleon Pavilion and the spectacular Silver Pagoda. This pagoda is worth exploring.  It owes its name to the 5,000 silver tiles weighing 1kg each which cover the entire floor.
Royal Palace
The emerald Buddha sits on a pedestal high atop the dias.  In front of the dias stands a life-size Buddha made of solid gold and weighs 75kg. It is decked with precious gems including diamonds, the largest of which is 25 carats.  Also on display at the sides are the coronation apparel and numerous miniature Buddha in gold and silver.

The walls surrounding the compound which is the oldest part of the palace, are covered with frescos depicting scenes from the Khmer version of the Ramayana.

INDEPENDENCE MONUMENT
The monument was built in 1958 to symbolise the independence that Cambodia gained from France in 1953. The French fully abandonned their interests in Indochina following defeat by the Vietnamese at the battle of Dien Bien Phu in May 1954. Independence is marked in Cambodia o­n the 9th November. The monument has a unique and peculiar style and doubles as a memorial to Cambodian patriots who died for their country.

NATIONAL MUSEUM
The NATIONAL MUSEUM of Cambodia is housed in a graceful terracotta structure of traditional design (built 1917-20) just north of the Royal Palace. It is open Tuesday to Sunday from 8 to 11 am and from 2 to 5 pm; entry is $3. Photography is prohibited inside. The School of Fine Arts (École des Beaux-arts) has its headquarters in a structure behind the main building.

WAT PHNOM
You may also want to check out WAT PHNOM which sits on a tree covered hill about 30m high in the northeast of the city.  It is said that the first pagoda was built in 1373 to house four statues of the Buddha deposited here by the Mekong river. It was discovered by a woman named Penh.  Thus, the name Phnom Penh, the hill of Penh. The people believe that this temple is powerful in that anyone who makes a wish will have it granted. It is not surprising to see many people coming here to pray for protection or healing.  Many bring lotus flowers as offerings for prayers answered.

At the bottom of the hill is a small zoo, but its most endearing residents, the monkeys, live free in the trees.  See more...

TUOL SLENG MUSEUM
In 1975,Tuol Svay Prey High School was taken over by Pol Pot's security force and turned into a prison known as Security Prison 21 (S-21) It soon became the largest such centre of detention and torture in the country. Over 17,000 people held at S-21 were taken to the extermination camp at Choeung Ek to be executed; detainees who die during torture were buried in mass graves in the prison grounds. See more...

CHEUNG EK KILLING FIELD
Between 1975 and 1978,aabout 17,000 men, women, children and infants (including nine westerners), detained and tortured at S-21 prison (now Tuol Sleng Museum), were transported to the extermination to death to avoid wasting precious bullets. See more...

NEW CENTRAL MARKET
